Mr. Ahmed Zeenad

Mr. Ahmed Zeenad was appointed as the Managing Director of Housing Development Finance Corporation PLC on 26th March 2024. He has over 15 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. His financial career started in 2006 at Maldives Finance and leasing Company as an Accountant. He also filled the role of Finance Manager at MFLC before moving to Bank of Maldives.

At BML, he led the implementation of SME banking strategy as the Head of SME Banking at the Bank. He also led as the Head of government loan schemes at the Bank before joining as the Managing Director at the SME Development Finance Corporation. At SDFC, he commenced business operations with all relevant policies and products in place. He further prioritized the digitization of the lending process by introducing a custom-made customer portal and loan origination system. When he left the corporation, it had achieved a loan book of over MVR 1.2 billion.
Mr. Zeenad holds a Master of Finance from Curtin University, Australia. He is also an Affiliate Member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
